Our mission: Help surgeons do their jobs even better
Surgeons identify lighting as one of the key elements of a productive operating theater. Operating rooms used for traditional open surgery are also employed for minimally invasive, microscopic, and/or cardiac surgeries. Effective direct and indirect task lighting are of course critical, but with so many of today’s procedures viewed indirectly via monitors, at Nightingale™ we concentrated our efforts on making useful light even more so.
Different wavelengths of light interact with monitors differently. Using dual-color channels and optional nLight® controls, our HSTL solutions deliver enhanced visual acuity throughout the operating theatre, no matter where monitors are located. In particular, image clarity on monitors is improved in the presence of green ambient light, while visual fatigue on the part of users is reduced. Throughout the surgical space, a team’s effectiveness is further enhanced through the management – or elimination – of glare and shadows. By enhancing visual acuity, increasing comfort and reducing stress, we can help make meaningful advances in how well surgeons perform.

Why we’re Nightingale.
